Gold Standard Psychological Assessments
Elliot Omari, MSc
Senior Psychotherapist
Elliot is a BACP-registered psychotherapist with extensive experience supporting children and young adults within NHS and community healthcare settings. His work focuses on helping individuals navigate the psychological, emotional and practical challenges associated with long-term health conditions while promoting independence, resilience and overall wellbeing.
He currently works as a Senior Health and Wellbeing Practitioner across Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College Hospital, where he provides psychologically informed interventions to young people living with diabetes. Working closely alongside multidisciplinary teams, Elliot delivers one-to-one therapeutic support, undertakes psychological formulation, and helps individuals manage issues such as anxiety, low mood, distress, adjustment to diagnosis, identity, family relationships, motivation and behaviour change.
Alongside his clinical work, Elliot designs and facilitates psychoeducational group programmes. These have included diabetes distress groups, healthy eating workshops, transition to adulthood programmes, and peer support initiatives that encourage self-management, emotional wellbeing and confidence. He has also co-produced services with young people to ensure interventions are accessible, engaging and responsive to their needs.
Elliot's therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing primarily from person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) principles. He adapts his approach to meet the individual needs of each client, creating a safe, collaborative and non-judgemental environment that encourages exploration, growth and meaningful change.
Throughout his career, Elliot has developed a strong interest in neurodevelopmental conditions and the ways autism and ADHD can influence emotional wellbeing, relationships, identity and engagement with healthcare and education. He is passionate about delivering compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming care and values working collaboratively with individuals and families to understand their experiences and support positive outcomes.
Elliot is committed to providing evidence-based, compassionate and person-centred care and welcomes opportunities to contribute his clinical expertise to services that support the psychological wellbeing of children, young people and families.
